| That one song is iconic in CATS but doesn't really convey the entire musical at all. I like the Lempicka score because it was different than most of the spring shows which sounded very similar with just different lyrics to fit the plot. Did I like every song--no. My criteria is do i want to listen to the album when released to assess it? Lempicka and Elephants are yes. Suffs, Outsiders, Notebook (sadly), Teeth, Gun & Powder and this version of Cabaret are a no. Will Lempicka be "Too bad i missed it" show--no. I felt it was similar to War Paint which is long forgotten by most--although i listen to the score occasionally and am glad i saw it. For your reference to last year, Some Like it Hot, Sweeney Todd and Parade were a yes. KimpberlyA, ALmostF, &Juliet, NYNY, Shucked, camelot were no. For the record, I did listen by steaming by library Kimberly, &J, Shucked and Camelot and still didn't like them. I didn't like Camelot but did enjoy Sweeney Todd. I did purchase Some LIke It Hot |
